Portrait of STARS Very Important Patient Jason Lunn with daughter, dancing as STARS crew look on

Daddy-daughter dances are special for most families, but there wasn’t a dry eye at graduation when Jason and his daughter Cadence took the floor.

Even though a high-speed crash left the father of three with a life-long spinal injury and dependent on a wheelchair, Jason had vowed to his family that life was going to stay as normal as possible.

In keeping with his promise, Jason found a stand-up wheelchair and modified it with a plate so Cadence could stand on it while the two of them danced to Cinderella.

“I was so proud of him,” said Cadence. “My dad took a bad situation and made it as good as he could. We all know this might not be possible without STARS and the people who support them.”
