STARS Critical Care on the Air Radiothon Presented by BHP hits the airwaves April 9-10, 2024

Regina, April 4, 2024 – April 9 and 10, 2024, STARS’ annual Critical Care on the Air Radiothon, presented by BHP, will be broadcasting across 40 radio stations in Saskatchewan to raise funds for STARS operations in the province. Throughout the two days, community members can tune in to hear courageous and generous stories from our Very Important Patients (VIPs), members of the STARS flight crew, community allies, and many more. The Radiothon is an exiciting opportunity to learn about STARS’ work in the community, hear from those directly impacted by STARS work, and the different ways you can support STARS’ critical care missions across Saskatchewan.

Four Very Important Patients will be fundraising in different areas of the province leading up to the radiothon with all proceeds going towards the radiothon’s fundraising goal. Each VIP has personally pledged to raise $3,000 dollars towards STARS $350,000 goal for the Radiothon. Those looking to support the fundraising efforts of STARS VIPs Easton Daae, Carter Yunick, Troy Duncan, and Ryan Straschnitzki can donate to their campaigns at criticalcareontheair.ca. You can follow along April 9 and 10 to learn more about their stories and ensure our services are here for the next patient like them.

“Every dollar raised helps STARS be the best hope in a worst case scenario for every one of our patients,” said Katherine Emberly, President and CEO of STARS. “By joining us on the air to learn more about the work we do and the impact that your support has, you are helping STARS grow stronger.”

To donate during the two-day broadcast, community members can call the Viterra Lifeline at 1-877-50-STARS. STARS wants to give a huge thank you to our presenting sponsor, BHP, who will be generously matching the first $50,000 in donations.

And when you use the hashtag #STARScareontheair on all social media channels, Saskatchewan Blue Cross will donate $100 up to $10,000 to STARS.
