Tyler doesn’t remember a lot about the events that transpired March 29, 2015 when he was injured in a head-on collision. Of this much he is certain though — were it not for the life-saving care provided to him by STARS, he would not be here today.
“I know that for a fact because I was in very bad shape,” Tyler said. “I lost all my blood and it was coming down to minutes.”
After he was extracted from his vehicle by emergency responders — a process that took almost an hour — Tyler was transported to hospital for emergency care for his injuries which included a broken knee, femur and hip, five fractured ribs, lacerated liver, broken wrist, shattered thumb and a broken nose.
It’s been a long road back for Tyler who endured nine months of physical therapy and had to learn how to walk again. However, because of his hard work he can look forward to a bright future.
“I’m just very thankful for what STARS does and for the lives they save.”
