Most people can only imagine the agony of losing both legs. I was young, healthy, and in love with my high school sweetheart.
We had plans.
But when both my legs were crushed at work, then amputated, it was more than my teenage heart could bear.
I briefly considered falling apart. Instead, I chose to fight for my life. I chose to fight the way every medical professional fought for me.
At the scene. In the ambulance. Inside the STARS helicopter. At the hospital.
These allies were in my corner and they gave me an opportunity to live.
Today, I live, work and play on two prosthetic legs.
I cherish every moment married to my high school sweetheart, Lisa, while we raise our two boys.
My life is worth the fight.
