STARS announces drive-in country music concert featuring George Canyon and Aaron Pritchett to support operations

August 19, 2020

REGINA, SK, August 19, 2020 — In an effort to raise life-saving funds during these challenging times, STARS is organizing a fundraising concert with a twist.

On October 3, the non-profit will host A Night with STARS, presented by GMS – an exciting drive-in country music concert held at Regina’s Turvey Center that attendees can enjoy from the comfort of their cars.

The entertaining evening will feature live musical performances by Juno, CCMA and ECMA award winner George Canyon and CCMA and BCCMA award winner Aaron Pritchett.

The drive-in concert is a unique replacement for the charitable helicopter air ambulance organization’s annual A Night with STARS fundraising gala, presented by GMS. The eighth annual edition of that event was originally set for March 21, 2020 at Evraz Place, but had to be postponed – along with many of STARS’ annual fundraising events – due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The gala has been one of STARS’ major fundraisers in Saskatchewan, having generated more than $1 million over the past seven years, all of which has directly supported STARS’ life-saving operations in the province.

STARS is an integral part of the emergency response system in Western Canada and continues to fly critically ill and injured patients during crises such as the pandemic we are currently facing,” said Andrea Robertson, STARS president and CEO.

“We want to assure you that our crews remain mission-ready our bases in Regina and Saskatoon and that your support of A Night with STARS, presented by GMS, will directly help those who live, work and travel across Saskatchewan.”

George Canyon said “I am very excited once again to support STARS for such an incredible cause and as well to perform with my buddy Aaron Pritchett.”

“I can’t wait to see the fans in Regina for this special event that will benefit so many people,” said Aaron Pritchett. “Get your tickets, and come out with us to have some fun and hear some great live music!”

A Night with STARS, presented by GMS, will be held on October 3, 2020, starting at 8:30 p.m. CST at Turvey Center in Regina. Tickets are $115 per vehicle (GA) and go on sale August 20 at 10:00 a.m. online at www.nightwithstars.ca
