On Saturday June 26,2010 our friend lost control of his motorcycle just south of Carbon, Alberta. The paramedics on site assessed his situation as critical and contacted STARS for assistance.  We are overwhelmed by the expert attention and professionalism that was given to him.  You people saved our friend's life!!! Thank You so much, from all his friends and his family, words cannot say enough.  Thanks to paramedic- Scott, Nurse- Michelle, Pilots- Bob T. and Greg C. and the doctors- Dr. R. Deedo and Dr. L. Bagihrzada.  We have bought STARS Lotto tickets for years never knowing we would some day require your assistance.  Again many thanks, Darlene and Bill  - posted by Darlene Coulson and Bill McPherson on Jul 1, 2010
Wow! Is really all I can say. What an awesome organization that has been created in Alberta. In May 2009 my son was in a truck accident in Drumheller AB. This night changed my life not to mention my child's. I raced in to Foothills Hospital in Calgary. I had been told by the RCMP in Drumheller that the outlook was not good. When arriving there my son was alive. Later when the doctors came and talked to me, they told me that he was never expected to be alive upon arrival at Foothills. He had severed an artery going through the roof of his mouth, broke crushed and shattered every bone in his face. His brain was bleeding on both frontal lobes. Multiple internal injuries and not to mention external ones. Sooooo many. You kept this beautiful gift that god gave me alive. Did I mention that when he was loaded into the ambulance in Drumheller they placed a sheet over his entire body and they got down on one knee and put my child into the ambulance, this was what they thought for sure would be his second last ride. But your amazing skills and abilities kept this child with me. Words, money, nothing can ever express the gratitude and thankfulness that I have for STARS! You delivered two young men the driver and my son to Foothills that night, both survived. My son now is in college in Winnipeg MB. Taking an Addictions counseling course and plans on returning to AB was completed. Thank-you from the very being of my soul. May god be with you all!

On August 19, 1992 my mom, my brother and sister as well as my son were in a terrible car accident. (This being the day after I, myself was in a car accident and already in hospital.) My mom was so badly hurt that air travel was not an option. However, my brother was taken by STARS to the University Hospital in Edmonton with numerous broken bones not to mention in a coma. He did recover from his injuries. Several years later, in 2005 I was pregnant with my third son. On his due date the doctors decided there was something wrong. He was taken by emergency c-section at 7:00 pm. By 6:00 am the next morning doctors had discovered his hearbeat was low as well as his body temperature and extemely pale. He would not eat nor cry. Once again STARS was called to the rescue of someone I love. He was taken to the U of A Hosp where he stayed for 9 days. He is 4 years old now and doing fine. I would hate to imagine what would have happened if they were not there for my family not once but twice. A huge thank you goes out to all of those that make these missions possible. - posted by Jennifer Zazula on Feb 4, 2010
